Reduction and treatment of liquid waste flowing in to the river

Good evening , I have seen from haridwar to Patna and Patna onwards on river ganga, thousands small to medium carrier boats are operating on diesel engine for movement. Theses diesel engine emits heavy particulate matters, releases dirty gases and contaminates water surfaces through contact . If we can use some renewable technology like solar powered boat & compressed producer gas in cylinders for running of gas engine instead of diesel engine etc. Many other ways also available to remove these diesel engine . these efforts will be catalyst for cleaning of surface contamination as the govt is already tried to get rid of physical removal of debris on river surface. Technology wise new ideas and can be promoted through mutual understanding of boat owners and govt. agency.

People Participation And Contribution

Active participation of students from various schools and colleges of the cities situated on the banks of river ganga is required. Associations like youth hostels association can be taken for creating awareness. Schedule for every school and college should be made at least for one hour any day of the week for spreading awareness and making some initiatives. Our country is full of talented engineers who can be very helpful in designing the banks into great tourist spots. separate, clean & neat arrangements have to be made for performing rituals along river ganga. along with tourism dept and other engineering construction companies positive initiative can be taken to develop river banks of haridwar, kanpur, alahbad & patna. this project should be complete in 2 years if parallel initiatives are taken in all the above mentioned cities.
